Summary LAB/PROJECT INACTIVE
The CSUMB Seafloor Mapping Lab (SFML) provided full service ship time in support of filming for the planned National Geographic/Discover Channel Canada television episode Drain the Bay, produced by Northern Sky Entertainment. Field work was conducted in the vicinity of Alcatraz Island. The R/V KelpFly surveyed in the existing multibeam data gap around Alcatraz Island (also collected by SFML) with the R/V VenTresca in attendance as the filming platform.
Broader Significance
Provide data support for educational outreach about the dramatic and dynamic morphology of the seafloor.
