Project Description: Spatio-Temporal Distribution of Published Research Studies in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS)

Summary

The project focused on quantifying the distribution of published research studies across the MBNMS based on focal ecosystems and taxonomic categories. More than 13,000 articles were considered.

Student Involvement

This project, thus far, has engaged a total of 14 graduate students from CSUMB and Moss Landing Marine Labs, including a course-based group project.

Broader Significance

The MBNMS, like other Sanctuaries around the country, is required to produce a regular Condition Report which depicts the status of Sanctuary resources. This project is focused on providing the spatio-temporal context for evaluation of resources status.
